These plants are very hardy and easy to grow. They like full sun and a good drink every few days. They do not like weed pressure so wherever you plant them place some type of ground cover around the plant about a foot out from the base and add some type of mulch to help retain moisture. When flowers appear, allow them to bloom then pick them off and dry them for tea.

Potted Adams Elderberry Plants
Do not let the plant produce berries the first year so the root system will develop and your plant will be stronger. Allow the plant to grow for an entire year, and the following winter the plant will go dormant. The leaves will fall off. At that time cut your plant to the ground so you get new growth in the spring.
